HANDICAMP 2012

96031SINGING ROCK in cooperation with Teiresias (Support Centre for Students with Special Needs at Masaryk University) and HO Matahari prepared a weekend event designed especially (but not only) for climbers and mountaineers with disabilities.

The place of this, already 6th Handicamp, was at the climbing area Rabštejn in the Jeseníky mountains.

So how was it? On Friday evening, all the participants were coming and in a cozy pub in Rabštejn we were planning the upcoming days. Besides climbing plans we also learned a lesson in sign language, which was particularly successful.

On Saturday, we settled in the square between the second and the third tower, where we prepared several top rope routes. Those who wanted could try rapelling and prusik climbing and most importantly, the biggest attraction was tyrolean traverse from the third to the second tower. The weather was nice but the unpleasant wind tested our equipment for cold. In the evening, thoroughly frozen, we again moved to the cozy pub where Víťa and Tonda projected something from the life of mountain guides.

On Sunday, we dedicated ourselves just and only to climbing, we tried beautiful routes Rigo, Green, Falcon pounce, and more. A little more difficult than on Saturday and longer, but the happiness when reaching the summit was greater. In the afternoon we packed up and told each other goodbye. Judging from the impressions of all the participants are all looking forward to the next Handicamp.

Thanks to everyone for participating, for help in organizing and actual climbing, and we hope to meet even more people there next year.
