Bohunka Mazánková
Bohunka Mazánková is the master seamstress of the Semily sewing workshop, overseeing about 45 seamstresses – the largest team in the company. Working in an all-female collective can be a challenge sometimes, but Bohunka always manages – often with humor that turns even tough situations around for the better.
She joined Singing Rock back in 1996 as a seamstress and has done it all. In the small workshop back then, she sewed harnesses for sports and work, backpacks, wallets, rain covers, gaiters, and even fleece jackets. That broad range was the foundation of the company, and anyone who's been through it all has the Singing Rock spirit in their blood. Today, her experience makes her the best mentor for the newer colleagues.
Bohunka has talent not just for sewing and leading the team, but also a unique hobby – breeding Saluki greyhounds. She's competed with her dogs at many shows and races. Her favorite female, Medea, even set a record at a track in Germany.
"It’s been almost 30 years that I’ve been working at Singing Rock, and I enjoy my job. Which product am I proud of? That’s a tough question – every one of them is great in its own way.
What do I do outside of work? I have two dogs that need some attention, so we go on long walks together. When it’s the season, I enjoy mushroom picking. I don’t have much time left for other hobbies. 😄"
