 The company SINGING ROCK gave a boost to three climbers who are fond of climbing both the sandstone and the granite in Jizerské mountains.
These three guys are going to take part in the International climbers’ meeting in American Utah this autumn.
The International climbers’ meeting in Utah is going to be held from 3th to 12th October 2008 and it is organized by the American Alpine Club. The program of the event is going to be varied. Probably the best attraction will be Indian Creek, which is famous for its crack climbing, bouldering in the surrounding, watching films etc. Further information is available here
Zdeněk Suchý
He has been climbing since he was 15. He spent five years as a student in Ústí nad Labem where he has fallen for sandstone climbing. He enjoys both the traditional climbing and bouldering. Together with Ondra Beneš or Jarda Ježek, who are the ones of the best climbers in Ústí nad Labem, he helped to establish a new bouldering area in the Czech Republic which is Modřín. Besides the sandstone climbing, he also goes climbing abroad. Last winter he explored new climbing areas in Turkey.

Filip Pavelka
He grew up in the granite climbing area in Jizerské mountains. Therefore, no wonder he is good at sandstone climbing. He is always able to do either traditional climbing even with more pitches or bouldering with great patience. Thanks to his flexible work he spends every winter abroad. Watching him climbing is a pleasure as he has a sense of motion. His favourite place for climbing is El Chorro. However, last winter he spent in Kalymnos.

Pavel Sýkora
Even though he has been climbing for a short time he has fallen for sandstone climbing as well as his friends. Concerning the fact that he has just finished his studies in Ostrava recently and not having that many opportunities to go climbing so often, he is able to improve every time. He is looking forward to new climbing experience and adventures in Utah.

Indian Creek in Utah is a place with the best crack climbing opportunities in the world. (As we know, there is nonesuch area for crack climbing as Ádr (Adršpach), however, the American guys don’t know it yet). There are plenty of cracks of any size which will prove their endurance and power in Indian Creek.
All in all, it is a great place for holding such event under the sponsorship of The American Alpine Club. |
